OVERVIEW

Foster Farms is the largest poultry company in the Western United States. Family-owned since 1939, with over 10,000 employees. At full capacity, the 83,000-square-foot plant processes 30 million pounds of further processed, value-added poultry products per year.

CHALLENGES

Replace old vacuum system within a two-day window, including removal of the existing four pumps, piping and tank. The new vacuum system needed to be installed within the same time frame.

SOLUTIONS

AES analyzed Foster Farm's system parameters to eliminate downtime due to poor vacuum. Improved vacuum from 8-10" HG VAC to 25" HG VAC.

BENEFITS

Reduced operating personnel by two workers compared to prior system. Maintain production speeds while running larger birds. Elimination of fecal issues. The installation was completed on schedule.
